Please join us at the Brenham Heritage Museum Bus Depot and Gallery on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024 from 5:30-6:30 pm, for a fascinating lecture by Project Manager of the William J. Hill Texas Artists and Artisans Archive, Michelle Johnson. The topic of her discussion will be: “Material Culture of Washington County.”
The William J. Hill Texas Artists and Artisans Archive is a freely-searchable online archive which documents the lives, work, and products of Texas artisans and artists through 1900. Named for Houston collector and longtime Bayou Bend supporter William J. Hill, the archive is intended to facilitate research, understanding, and appreciation of Texas decorative arts, as well as painting, photography, and other media.

This presentation will take place at the BHM Bus Depot and Gallery at 313 East Alamo Street in Downtown Brenham, Texas. This program is in conjunction with the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street Program to take place in Downtown Brenham during Winter of 2024-2025.
